Le satellite maudit / The Darn Satellite

It is rare that I get angry in real life or write negative articles on my blog but the company Mobiltech located in Markham, Ontario, Canada went off limit to test my patience. A few years ago, I bought from them a Canadian TV satellite system. At the time, they were located in Florida and were under the business name, Canam Satellites. The service was OK at the time. It is not the case anymore since 2 years.

I have the impression that we were given old satellite systems each time our unit broke. Last February, the unit broke again and after several calls (where we were promised a new system as soon as they would get it from Star Choice), we were told that we should have sent the broken satellite when it first broke. Idiots! They waited a full 2 months before saying anything like that! So, all up until yesterday, it was a full 3 months without any service and I still had to pay the monthly fee. In the last phone call, I was specifically told that it will be the last time I will be given a free repaired satellite.

Every time I call, it is answered by a woman with a bad attitude (called Annie, not to mention her name!) and she quickly pass the call to the technician (who, surprise, happens to be her dad!) A real redneck company! When I searched for the Mobiltech address (the one that I was given to send my broken satellite), I was told it was the manufacture. Actually, what a bizarre coincidence because this address (7503 Woodbine Avenue) is actually a copy center with mailboxes rental in it. If you look at the Canam Satellites on Google, you will find a homepage with a message that the site is under maintenance. Wow! This message hasn't been updated for the past 3 months at least! They are such a bunch of pros!

I think they felt in hot water with the fact that it is not totally legal to offer the Canadian Satellite to Canadian customers who live in the USA.

Well, you are probably not surprised to know that I am looking to replace these idiots so if you have a better suggestion, bring it on!

I am holding the last satellite I was promised.
