Prions Dieu! / Praise the Lord!

Like I have told many of you this week on Twitter (you can follow me on Twitter; ID: nsroths), the Seventh-Day Adventist worshippers are in Soquel, my adoptive town, for 10 days for their annual meeting. The theme of this 129th Adventists Camp Meeting is Victory in Jesus.

Hundreds of RVs and canvas tents, with more than 5,200 campers, are gathered in a mini-village look-a-like on the land of the Seventh-day Adventist’s Conference Center. There are activities for all ages. Each age-oriented tent has activities coordinated with the main sermons, which allowed parents the leisure to worship and gave kids activities that get them engaged. “It helps reinforce that they are secure in their beliefs,” primary tent leader, Amber Hurd said. “We give them a chance to get closer to each other and to God.”

Besides offering these activities, the Seventh-day Adventists camp meeting also catered to Spanish-speaking communities. “It is important for us to be able to reach out to every branch of the community,” Rev. Keith Mulligan said. “Everyone deserves to know the love of God.”
