Jour de graduation / Graduation Day

--------------------------------------------------

Three years ago, I had the honor to graduate from San José State University with a BFA in Animation/Illustration with Honors. The same day, one of my good friends, Katie Greenleaf, told me she would be the next one to graduate. Well, yesterday, that day finally happened!

It was also the day to wear for the first time my handmade retro dress. Yeah! It was with a great pleasure that I attended the graduation of my friend, Katie, from the Lincoln Law School. Next August, it will be 12 years that we know each other. Since that day, she became a perseverance model to me. After having three children, she could have said I am done and just stay home. Well, no! She decided to get into Law school because she is dreaming to be a judge one day. Anyone who is married with kids could tell you it is very challenging to have a good balance between family life and school.

Her determination to follow her professional dream has inspired me to pursue my own dream to do a Master degree one day. Many challenges came up in my life for the past 5 years and many people abandoned me as a friend, but not Katie. She has always been a great support to me. To all of you who are reading this blog today, I wish you a friend like Katie. She is a priceless friend. I often thank God to have brought her in my life.

Once again, congratulation Katie for your Law Degree! Who knows! When “Judge Judy” from the famous American TV program will retire, maybe she will have a great replacement: Judge Katie!

Hi Salome,

Yes, Athena is the spitting image of Katie. But she has Gerry's personality. We had lot of fun last week. I was glad to meet Athena and her friends to talk about their magazine. I think it is a great initiative.

Hi Ruth,

Thank you for your comment. I will be wearing the dress again for a wedding in the Sacramento area. It is much warmer here than last weekend in Santa Cruz so it will be perfect.
