Hier, au centre-ville de Santa Cruz, nous avons eu de la belle et grande visite. La fameuse et très grande de taille actrice Daryl Hannah était de passage au studio de notre télévision communautaire pour promouvoir l’éthanol comme une source d’énergie alternative.
Hannah est arrivée au studio au volant de sa Pontiac Trans Am 1979 qu’elle conduisait dans le film “Kill Bill” (qui fut, également, un cadeau du producteur Quentin Tarantino). L’année dernière, elle a convertit sa précieuse auto pour qu’elle roule a 85% avec de l’éthanol. Les lois fédérales limitent jusqu’à maintenant le degré d’éthanol par gallon dans l’essence jusqu’à 10%. L’actrice et David Blurne, un écologiste local, travaillent depuis plusieurs années à changer cette loi.
Blurne et Hannah seront à Sacramento cet après-midi pour une conférence de presse afin d’encourager EPA (Environmental Protection Agency) de changer leur loi avant qu’il ne soit trop tard pour l’environnement.

Yesterday, in downtown Santa Cruz, we had a tall and famous visitor. The quite famous and real tall actress Daryl Hannah stopped at the community television to promote ethanol as an alternative energy source.
Hannah arrived at the studio, bringing with her the 1979 Pontiac Trans Am she drove in “Kill Bill” (that was, also, a gift from movie producer Quentin Tarantino). Last year she had the sports car converted to run off 85 percent ethanol. Federal regulations limit the amount of ethanol per gallon of gas to 10%. The actress and David Blurne, a local ecologist, have been working together for many years to change this law.
Blurne and Hannah will travel to Sacramento this afternoon for a press conference encouraging the EPA (Environmental Protection Agency) to lift the restriction before it gets too late for the environment.
