Animal rare! / Rare animal!

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

A lone wolverine has been seen in California more than 90 years after the race was supposedly extinct from our State. Fur trade is the main reason of the wolverine extinction in California. This animal, who lives normally more than 800 miles away, remains a mystery to wildlife authorities.

Because it is mating season, the wolverine, called Buddy, is looking for a girlfriend. However, it is obvious that he is alone of his species in the area. We think he ended up on the west of the Rockies because he’s been looking for the perfect mate or possibly, because someone captured him from Idaho and let him go in California.

Meanwhile, we hope that Buddy won’t end up as a fur coat next winter season!

In april or may 2009, i was travelling in Northern California with a friend,on road 97 towards Klamath Falls. Near the place called Macdoel, we saw an animal we didn't know crossing the road. As nobody had any clue about it, we looked into books and the only similar animal was a wolverine. But we were told nobody had ever seen that there. Later in a museum with stuffed animals, i saw one and i'm pretty sure that it was what we had seen.

Perhaps you were right of what you saw, especially you had a friend with you.

Thanks for your comment.
