Tour de Sather / Sather Tower

Surplombant le campus de UC Berkeley, la tour de Sather, mieux connue comme la UC Berkeley Campanile, est le symbole le plus connu de l’université. La tour a été inauguré en 1914 avec ses 13 étages et des colonnes de plus de 307 pieds de hauteur. Un carillon se fait entendre trois fois par jour. À ses débuts, le carillon était composé de 12 cloches mais avec les années, l’université a augmenté son nombre a 61 cloches.

Pour ceux qui sont interessés, la tour est situé à l’intersection de Bancroft Avenue et Telegraph Avenue à Berkeley.

At its beginning, the carillon was made of 12 bells but with the years, the university has increased it to 61 bells.
