Pour tout ceux qui ont vue et aimé le film “The Soloist”, vous serez content d’apprendre que les deux principaux caractères du film, le journaliste Steve Lopez ainsi que l’itinérant Nathaniel Ayers, existent vraiment et vivent à Los Angeles. Pour ceux qui ne connaissent pas l’histoire du film, il vous faut louer ce film qui vous touchera sûrement.
Steve Lopez, un journaliste pour le Los Angeles Times, était a la recherche d’une histoire à écrire il y a 5 ans, quand le hasard a amené Nathaniel Ayers dans sa vie. Nathaniel, un itinérant affligé d’une maladie mentale, est toutefois un musicien accompli. On découvrira tôt dans le film qu’il a fréquenté la réputée école de musique Julliard de New York.
Avec l’aide de plusieurs amis, Nathaniel Ayers aura enfin son premier CD dans quelques semaines. Les recettes des ventes iront pour bénéficier les programmes d’art pour les maladies mentales.

For those of you who saw and loved the movie “The Soloist”, you will be happy to find out that both main characters, journalist Steve Lopez as well as homeless Nathaniel Ayers, really exist and live in the Los Angeles area. For those of you who are not familiar with the movie, go rent it. You will be moved by the story of both men.
Steve Lopez, a Los Angeles Times journalist, was searching inspiration to write a new story five years ago when he stumbled upon Nathaniel Ayers. Nathaniel, a homeless with mental disabilities, is an achieved musician. We find out in the movie that he was a student at the renowned Julliard Music school in New York.
With the help of a few friends, Nathaniel Ayers will soon have his first CD released in a few weeks. Profits of the sale will benefit arts programs at mental health agencies.
