J’aurais tellement avoir une belle tête à chapeau! Peut-être dans ma prochaine vie! Quand je vais dans un magasin où il y a de beaux chapeaux, j’ai toujours un malin plaisir à en essayer quelques-uns. Plus farfelus qu’ils sont, plus ils m’attirent…
Je serais au paradis de visiter un jour la boutique de Leigh Magar. Cette jeune chapelière de la Caroline du Sud possède un talent fou. Comme toute artiste, il n’était pas évident au départ de partir une telle entreprise. Comme elle devait se faire connaitre, elle a pris son courage à deux mains et a appelé un acheteur pour le réputé magasin Barney et a obtenu un contrat sur le champ.
Sa compagnie, Magar Hatworks (http://www.magarhatworks.com/), est maintenant lancé. Son meilleur conseil: “Pendant longtemps, je n’avais pas d’employé. Maintenant que j’ai de l’aide, j’ai plus de temps à consacrer à dessiner de nouvelles créations.”

I would be in paradise to visit one of these days Leigh Magar’s boutique. This young South Carolina hatmaker possess a real gift for hat making. Like any artist, it wasn’t easy to make a living out of her talent. She had to be known publicly, so she grabbed her courage and cold-called a buyer at Barney. She got a contract instantly.
Her company, Magar Hatworks (http://www.magarhatworks.com/), is now alive. Her best advice: “For a long time, I didn’t hire anyone. Having another set of hands freed me up from work that was taking me away from designing.”
