Spring Awakening

La semaine dernière, j’assistais en compagnie d’une bonne amie, a la pièce de théâtre “Spring Awakening” au San Jose Repertory Theater. Cette tragédie musicale est une pièce originalement présentée sur Broadway. Malgré toute la bonne publicité faite sur la pièce, j’avoue que mon amie et moi n’avons pas beaucoup aimée cette pièce.

Ayant de vastes éléments osés, elle s’adresse donc à un audience adulte. J’ai toujours vue de bonnes pièces de théâtre au San Jose Repertory Theater mais cette pièce était sûrement l’une des pires, malheureusement. Je ne blâme aucunement les acteurs car ils sont tous talentueux et certains ont une très belle voix. L’histoire ne m’a tout simplement pas accrochée. Même chose pour mon amie.

Oh well, ce sera pour une prochaine fois…

Last week, along with a good friend, I attended the new play, “Spring Awakening”, at the San Jose Repertory Theater. This musical is an original Broadway show. Despite all the high profile publicity done, I have to admit that my friend and I hated this play.

With daring scenes, this play is for adult only. I have seen many good plays at the San Jose Repertory Theater but this one is surely one of the worst, unfortunately. I am not blaming the actors’ play because they are talented and some of them even possess a nice voice. The story just didn’t appeal to me. Ditto for my friend.

Oh well, it will be for a next time…
