L’arbre Fremont / The Fremont Tree

Le 25 février 1846, le lieutenant John C. Fremont a marque l’histoire dans la région de Santa Cruz en campant dans un arbre fascinant, le Lt. John C. Fremont tree. Oui, si vous verriez cet arbre, vous pourriez constater que ce n’est pas près de l’arbre qu’il a couché mais c’est à l’intérieur.

L’arbre est très confortable à l’intérieur, même bien plus qu’une tente d’armée. L’arbre Fremont situé dans le Henry Cowell Park, le tout premier parc d’arbre redwood sur la côte américaine. Il est devenu un icône dans la région de Santa Cruz. Par le passé, plus de 75 marins ont pu entrer dans l’arbre. Récemment, un groupe de jeunes étudiants ont également tous entre dans l’arbre.
