Goodbye Christina!

On connait la chanson: une autre semaine, un autre contracteur à Google qui s’en va! Vendredi dernier, le départ s’est fait autrement que la fin d’un contrat: Christina, une spécialiste du pays Danemark, a dûe dire aurevoir au rêve américain car son mari a perdu son emploi et n’était qu’aux USA que via un visa.

Ce sont des choses bien malheureuses et la dure réalité de la vie quand on est immigrant ici. Je me souviendrais toujours de Christina comme ayant un penchant pour les choses artistiques, qui dessinait dans les meetings et avait une touche bien spéciale pour décorer son écran d’ordinateur. Elle formait une paire inégalée avec Stefan, son comparse Danois.

Nous allons tous nous ennuyer de Christina et nous lui souhaitons la meilleure des chances pour se refaire une vie au Danemark.

We know the song: another week, another Google contractor who is leaving! Last Friday, this departure was different than the others: it wasn’t because of the end of a contract but for a more cruel reason: Christina, our Danish Country Specialist, kissed goodbye to her American dream because her husband lost his job and they were both in USA under a work visa.

It is a really sad and harsh reality when you are an immigrant here. I will always remember Christina as a very artistic person, who loved to doodle during meetings and she had a special touch to decorate her computer screen at work. She had a true bonding with Stefan, her Danish co-worker.

We will all dearly miss Christina and we are wishing her the best of luck for her new life in Denmark.
