Il a passé plus de 17 ans à travailler dans ce parc. Des sa première visite à Yosemite, il est tombe en amour avec les lieux. Ce n’est donc pas un pur hasard qu’il a décidé, par la suite, de venir y faire carrière. Par le passé, il a écrit un livre sur sa vie d’agent forestier, “Gloryland” et a été notamment invité à l’émission Oprah pour partager son amour de la forêt et des parcs nationaux avec l’audience.
Il avoue que plus d’un million d’Américains n’ont jamais mis les pieds dans un parc national et avoue que cela devrait être illégal. Je suis d’accord avec lui. Prendre une vacance dans un parc national ne coûte pas les yeux de la tête et chaque citoyen devrait prendre conscience de la beauté des paysages dans lequels on vit.

If you had the choice, what would be your dream job? Many of you would pick something according to the money you could make but some of you would pick an outdoor job. I know many who would give a lot of money to have Shelton Johnson’s job. You see, he is a park ranger for Yosemite National Park.
He spent the past 17 years working in this park. From his very first visit in Yosemite, it was love at first sight. It is not a pure coincidence if he decided, afterward, to have a Yosemite park related. In the past, he wrote a book about his career, “Gloryland” and was also a guest at Oprah’s TV show to talk about his love of working in a national park.
He admits that more than a million American have never set a foot in a national park and it should be illegal. I agree with him. Taking a vacation in a national park doesn’t cost much and each citizen should be conscious of the beauty of the scenery where we live in.
