Raymundo et Clara Beristain ont de quoi être fier. Tout deux, immigrants du Mexique, se sont rencontrés alors que Clara travaillait comme serveuse au défunt Winchell's Donuts à Santa Cruz. Le couple a eu 4 enfants et malgré le fait que la langue primaire dans la maison était l'espagnol, les enfants ont toujours bien réussi au niveau scolaire.
Leur enfant aînée, Alejandra, 20 ans, est maintenant étudiante en médecine à Harvard University. Leur deuxième enfant, Raymundo, étudie à l'université de Chicago. Ces deux universités sont parmis les 5 top universités du pays.
Pas mal pour des enfants d'immigrants....

Raymundo and Clara Beristain have something to be proud of. Both of them, Mexico immigrants, met while Clara was working as a waitress at the former Winchell's Donuts in Santa Cruz. The couple had 4 children and despite the fact that the language spoken in the household was Spanish, their children always did very well in school.
Their eldest child, Alejandra, 20 years old, is now a pre-med student at Harvard University. Their second child, Raymundo, studies at Chicago University. These two colleges are among the top five in the nation.
Not bad for immigrants' children...
