La dernière romance / The Last Romance

Saviez –vous qu’il n’y a pas d’âge pour tomber en amour? Il n’y a pas d’âge pour connaitre enfin le grand amour? C’est avec cette idée en tête que Joe Dipietro avait quand il a écrit la pièce “The Last Romance” (La dermière romance). Cette pièce est présentée auy San Jose Repertory Theater jusqu’en novembre.

Vendredi soir, nous avons assisté à la présentation et avons été ébloui par le professionalisme et le talent des quatre acteurs. Les deux personages principaux, Ralph (Will Marchetti) et Carol (Kitty Winn), nous tiennent en haleine du début à la fin. Ils nous font découvrir qu’on peut trouver l’amour dans les endroits les plus banals, comme dans un parc pour chiens. Il faut également souligner le talent de Sharon Lockwood, dans le rôle de Rose, qui nous démontre le portrait d’une soeur protectrice et maternelle. Le tout est supporté par des mini présentations d’opéra chanté par le talentueux Joshua Jeremiah. Une voix impressionante ainsi qu’un talent d’acteur indéniable…

Malgré ma déception avec la dernière pièce, je peux vous assurer que la pièce “The Last Romance” vaut le détour!

Did you know that there is no age to fall in love? There is also no age to find true love? It is with this idea in mind that Joe Dipietro wrote the play “The Last Romance”. This play is currently presented at the San Jose Repertory Theater until November.

Friday night, we attended a presentation and were blown away by the four actors’s professionalism and talent. Both two main characters, Ralph (Will Marchetti) and Carol (Kitty Winn), take our breath away all throughout the play. They make us discover that we can find love anywhere, even at a dog’s park. I have to mention Sharon Lockwood’s talent, in the role of Rose. She is portraying an overprotective and maternal sister. The whole play is cut with some special opera songs, sang by the very talented Josha Jeremiah. A powerful voice as well as a spectacular acting presence….

Despite my last play’s deception at the Rep, I can assure you that the play “The Last Romance” is worth the trip to San Jose!
