Friction fantastique / Fantastic Friction

Je vous parlais du weekend dernier de l’expérience scientifique de ma fille avec une partenaire. Je vous fait part maintenant du projet de science de mon garçon.

Lui et son partenaire, Cole, font une expérience avec la friction. À l’aide d’une planche et d’un protracteur, ils ont fait glisser différent matériaux et ont prouvés que ces matériaux ont besoin de différents angles pour glisser aisément.

Après avoir travaillé sur un carton de presentation ce weekend, ils sont fin prêt pour le grand jour de la science.

I was mentioning to you last weekend my daughter’s floral experiment with a partner. I am now sharing with you my son’s experiment.

His partner Cole and himself are doing a science experiment on friction. With the help of a plank and a protractor, they are making some objects slide and proved that these materials need different angles to slide easily.

After having worked on a presentation board this weekend, they are finally ready for the big day.

Expérience florale / Floral Experiment

Chaque année, l’école de mes enfants sont l’hôte d’une journée de science pour encourager les élèves à étudier dans le milieu scientifique. Ils n’ont souvent que 6 ans et sont groupés avec une ou deux autres personnes pour démontrer des expériences devant d’autres élèves ou des parents.

Cette année, ma fille a été groupée avec Sarah, une petite de la 4ème année. Leur expérience? Arroser 12 pots de fleurs avec des fluides différents tel que de l’eau de mer, du lait ou de l’alcool entre autre.

Je photographierai l’expérience à chaque semaine jusqu’au 26 mai pour montrer l’état des fleurs. Un évènement à suivre…

Each year, my children’s school is the host of Science Day Fair to encourage the students to study in a scientific field. They are sometimes only 6 years old and are grouped with one or two more persons to demonstrate experiments in front of other students or parents.

This year, my daughter was grouped with Sarah, a young 4th grader. Their experiment? Water 12 flower pots with different fluids such as ocean water, milk or alcohol.

I will document the experiment on a weekly basis and will keep posting the photos until May 26th, day of the Science Fair. An event to follow…
