Fanas des Beatles, voici un évènement à ne pas manquer si vous êtes dans le coin de San Francisco dans les deux prochains mois. Et vous pouvez remercier Stephen Goldblatt pour cet évènement. En effet, pendant plus de 40 ans, il a conservé une boîte de négatifs photo contenant des clichés des Beatles qu’il a pris par le passé.

Quand Goldblatt a fait le shooting photo, il n’a jamais été précisé qui aurait la propriété des négatif-photos. Les photos sont longtemps demeurés dans l’ombre et c’est grâce à la collaboration de Ken Light, un employé de la UC Berkeley, que l’exposition des rares photographies a pu avoir lieu.

Un avant-goût de l’exposition via un exposition de diapositive aura lieu vendredi le 12 novembre à 18h00 a la UC Berkeley Graduate School of Journalism Gallery. L’exposition-photo aura lieu au même endroit jusqu’en janvier. Pour plus d’information, consulter le www.fotovision.org.

Beatles fans, here is an event not to be missed if you are in the San Francisco area in the next two months. And you can thank Stephen Goldblatt for this special moment. Yes, because for the past 40 years, he kept hidden a box of film negatives about a photo shoot with the Beatles years ago.

When Goldblatt did the session, it was never explicit to whom the negatives would belong to. The photographs stayed for a long time in the dark and it is with the collaboration of Ken Light, a UC Berkeley employee, that the photo exhibit of the rare photographs can happen.

A free sneak preview of the exhibit via a slideshow will be happening on Friday November 12th at 6 PM at the UC Berkeley Graduate School of Journalism Gallery. The photo exhibit will be held at the same place until January. For more information, visit www.fotovision.org.

The White Album Ensemble presented the Beatles' greatest hits with a benefit concert. We were there last year and this time, we had seats in the third row. We had a great view.

Soirée de Beatles / Beatles evening

Hier soir, nous avons litérallement plongé dans le passé en allant au spectacle du White Album Ensemble à Santa Cruz. Le groupe, en association avec l'orchestre symphonique du comté de Santa Cruz, nous a fait vibrer pendant deux heures sur les hits des Beatles après leur séparation.

Les arrangements musicaux ainsi que les magnifiques voix de ce groupe nous ont fait chavirer. Le spectacle était éblouissant et la foule était en délire quand le groupe a interprété certaines chansons. J'étais ravie d'entendre mes favorites, "Here Comes the Sun", "Hello Goodbye", "Imagine" et bien sûr, "My Sweet Lord".

Last night, we were literally plunged into the past when we attended the White Album Ensemble's latest show in Santa Cruz. The group, in association with the Santa Cruz County Symphony, made us swing during two hours with a special program featuring songs after the Beatles broke up.

The orchestral arrangements as well as the stunning voices made us vibrate. The show was mind-blowing and the crowd was in ecstasy by moment when the group sang some of their favorites. I was well-pleased to hear some of my favorites, "Here Comes the Sun", "Hello Goodbye", "Imagine", and of course, "My Sweet Lord".
