Concours BP / BP Contest

Avez-vous de l'imagination a revendre? Si oui, voici un concours qui va vous plaire! La International Institute for Ecological Agriculture a recemment lance un concours: Donnez un nouveau nom a la British Petroleum.

Les dommages ecologiques causes par le recent incident de la BP sont inquietant et la majorite des gens en veulent a la compagnie. Les 10 meilleures nominations seront postees le 4 juillet au site web de l'institut, www.alcoholcanbeagas.com and the grand gagnant sera courronne le 12 juillet prochain et se meritera un prix en argent.

Do you have lots of imagination? If so, here is a contest that you will love! The International Institute for Ecological Agriculture recently launched a new contest: ReName the British Petroleum contest.

The ecological damages caused by the recent BP incident are enormous and the majority of people are fairly upset about it. The top 10 nominations will be posted on July 4th at the Institute website and the grand winner will be announced on July 12 and will be awarded a cash prize.

Concours unique! / Unique contest!

Il y a quelques jours, j’ai été chercher de l’équipement pour notre petite ferme d’une quincaillerie locale, Orchard Supply. Arrivée au comptoir pour payer mes achats, je vois un petit bocal de crayon feutre Sharpie et un enseigne qui demandait aux gens d’acheter un crayon afin de gagner un concours contre les magasins de la même chaîne de deux municipalités du coin.

Comme je veux que Capitola gagne, j’ai donc achetée un petit crayon. Il paraît qu’à chaque semaine, Orchard Supply met en vedette un nouveau produit pas gros et pas cher pour continuer cette charmante compétition.

J’ai dit, en farce, au caissier: “Tant que ce ne sera pas une brouette ou un rouleau de 100 mètres de broches à clôture, je vais continuer à vous encourager dans ce petit concours.”

Que le meilleur magasin gagne!

A few days ago, I went to get some equipments of our little farm in a local hardware store, Orchard Supply. When I arrived to the cashier to pay, I saw a little jar full of black Sharpie pens and a sign that requested people to buy one of those pens. The purpose of the sign was that Orchard Supply has a friendly contest against two other local stores of the same store chain.

Because I want to see the Capitola store win, I bought one of those pens. It seems that each week, Orchard Supply sell a new product not too big and affordable to continue this charming competition.

I told the cashier, as a joke: “As long as it doesn’t involve buying a wheelbarrow or a 100-meter barbwire roll, I will continue to participate in this friendly contest.”

And the best win!
