Hier, c’était le 83ème anniversaire de la fameuse route 66 des USA. On a célébré l’évènement en grand à Santa Monica en ayant une parade de 66 automobiles et motocyclettes anciennes. Pour souligner un débat qui a finalement pris fin, on a déclaré le quai de Santa Monica comme la fin de route 66. Un réplique d’une pancarte “fin du sentier” a été inaugurée.
Le LA Times avait déclaré que John Steinbeck avait appelé la route 66, qui s’étend de Chicago à Los Angeles, comme la route mère. Depuis le début de la création de cette route, la fin de celle-çi était des plus nébuleuse. La ville de Santa Monica est fier qu’on est approuvé la fin de la route vers leur fameux quai.
Une histoire qui finit bien…

Yesterday was the 83rd anniversary of the famous American route 66. We celebrated the event in big in Santa Monica with a parade of 66 vintage cars and motorbikes. To end a debate that has been going on for a while, they have officially declared the Santa Monica pier as the end of route 66. A replica of a sign “End of trail” was established.
The LA Times declared that John Steinbeck has called route 66, spread from Chicago to Los Angeles, the ‘mother-road’. Since the beginning of its creation, the end of route 66 on the western side has been nebulous. Santa Monica city officials are proud that we have decided to put the end of route 66 to their famous pier.
