Double Indemnity

Pour la quatrième fois cette saison, San Jose Repertory Theater présente une nouvelle pièce: Double Indemnity. La pièce raconte l’histoire d’une femme qui complote le meurtre de son mari avec comme complice, un agent d’assurance. L’histoire aurait pu être intéressante mais j’ai sommellée pendant de longues minutes durant la pièce.

Même si cette pièce était meilleure que la première présentation, il n’en reste que mon mari et moi avons trouvé le temps pas mal long. Le jeu des deux acteurs principaux (John Bogar et Carrie Paff) sonnait faux. Nous avions la nette impression que les acteurs ne faisaient que lire leur texte. L’émotion n’était nullement tangible.

Donc, en résumé, gardez votre argent pour voir quelque chose de mieux…

For the fourth time this season, San Jose Rep is presenting a new play: Double Indemnity. The play tells the story of a woman who, along with accomplice insurance agent, plot to murder her husband. The story could have been interesting but I dozed off several times during the performance.

Even though this play was better than the first one this season, I have to admit that both my husband and I got bored. The main actors’ performances (John Bogar and Carrie Paff) were weak. We felt as the actors were only reading their text instead of acting them. The emotion was not quite tangible.

So, in a nutshell, keep your cash for something much better…
