C’est en effet aujourd’hui que le coureur, age de 27 ans, affrontera une compétition féroce au marathon olympique de Houston pour se tailler une place garantie pour les prochains jeux olympiques. Gradué de l’université Stanford en 2007, il a accumulé plusieurs courses et honneurs.
En 2010, il a couru ce même marathon qu’il entreprendra aujourd’hui et l’a terminé en 2 heures, 10 minutes et 36 secondes. Cela a fait de lui le 4ème Americains le plus rapide de tout les temps.
