There is not a day that when I go to Santa Cruz, I see these famous “bums” on street corners who beg for money. Usually, it is a badly dressed man with a kitty or little dog and holding in his hands a cardboard sign saying that he is a war veteran without a dime and all he wants is spare change to go back home to Kansas.
I always wondered why so many of those Kansas homeless ended up suddenly in Santa Cruz. The honesty of the displayed signs often leaves me in doubt. A website, http://www.holytaco.com/25-awsome-homeless-guy-signs, was created and collected photo of homeless people holding signs that are real honest (but sometimes their messages are quite racy).
And what about you? Would you give some spare changes to these guys?
