Un aperçu! / Sneak Peak!

En juin prochain, je suis invitée à une graduation et un mariage. Ce sont deux évènements qui me sont cher car c'est l'une de mes grandes amies qui va graduer (elle va devenir juge) et c'est ma belle-fille qui se marie.

Donc, je caressais le projet d'avoir une belle robe pour aller aux deux évènements. Je ne voulais pas une robe que tout le monde pouvait acheter dans un grand magasin. Comme beaucoup de personnes qui iront au mariage se font faire une robe, je me suis dit: pourquoi pas?

Je ne voulais pas d'une robe d'un magasin de mariage car tout est satinée et ne se porte plus par la suite. Donc, en fouillant en ligne, je suis tombée en amour avec le style des années 50.

Voici un aperçu de la robe (qui sera légèrement modifiée) et les deux tissus rétro que j'ai achetée hier! J'ai déjà hâte que juin arrive!

Next June, I am invited to a graduation and a wedding. Those are two events that are very important to me because it is one of my best friends who will graduate (she wants to be a judge) and my step-daughter is getting married.

So, I really wanted to have a really nice dress to attend both events. I didn't want a dress that you can buy off the rack in a big department store. Many people who are attending the wedding have ordered a dress to be custom-made and I thought: why not me?

I didn't want a shiny dress from a wedding store; the kind of dress that you wear once and collects dust in the closet. So, while browsing online, I fell in love with the 1950's style.

Here is a sneak preview of the dress (that will be slightly different from this model) and both retro fabrics that I bought yesterday! I can't wait June rolls by!
