Qui a dit que d’écrire à une compagnie, un éditiorial ou même tenir un blogue ne peut rien rapporter? Parlez-en à Brianna Karp, une sans-abri de Riverside, Californie qui a perdue son emploi comme assistante exécutive en juillet 2008.
Karp, a vécue de contrats temporaire pendant un certain temps et vivant même de la charité de sa famille. En février dernier, elle a prit avantage d’une politique de Wal-Mart qui permet d’utiliser leur terrain de stationnement comme endroit pour stationer un R-V pour la nuit. Avec une carte Internet Starbucks, elle a commencée à tenir un blogue sans que personne dans son entourage ne soupçonne sa situation.
Après avoir contactée E. Jean Carroll, du magazine Elle, elle s’est vue offrir un emploi à $150/mois pour écrire une heure par jour. Plusieurs décrit que Brianna est victime d’exploitation mais si on regarde la situation d’un oeil différent, ce sera peut-être un tremplin vers une meilleure vie pour Mrs. Karp. Qui sait…

Karp, who lived off temp work for a while and even survived due to family charities. Last February, she took advantage of a new Wal-Mart policy that allow to use their parking lot at night to sleep in a RV. With a Starbuck Wireless card, she started to write a blog without anyone suspected she was a homeless.
After contacting E. Jean Carroll, from Elle Magazine, she was offered a $150/month job where she is required to write one hour a day. Many said that Brianna is exploited at that salary but if we look closely at the situation, it might be a step toward something better for Mrs. Karp. Who knows…
