When we visit a cemetery, we often see death. However, there is life. Silicon Valley cemeteries are often spread with life of all kind: beautiful trees, birds, squirrels, turkeys, and foxes. In this second article, I will be writing another nice cemetery.
The second cemetery that I am covering today is the Mission City Memorial Park, in Santa Clara. The first official papers talk about this cemetery, 30-acres, is from the 1840s. Many farmers and pioneers are buried at this place. The cemetery offer free brochures to do self-guided tour at this place.
Like so many important Valley cemeteries, personalities are resting in peace there such as inventor Edwin Davies (Santa Clara Machine Shop’s owner), Samuel Ignatius Jamison (Santa Clara Cheese Manufacturing Company’s president) as well as Albert Lawrence (the Lawrence Expressway road was partially named in his honor).
