En cette journée de Martin Luther King et également celle du bénévolat, le président Barack Obama demande aux gens de donner une journée de leur temps pour donner à la communauté.
Meme si je fais du bénévolat chaque jour, un article dans l’un de mes magazines favoris a attiré mon attention l’autre jour. Kaitlyn Chana, fondatrice de Love Letters: Random Cards of Kindness (http://www.loveletterscares.com/), a débutée en janvier 2005 son projet de faire des cartes pour les enfants malades. Bref, le tout se devait n’être qu’un devoir pour l’école mais sa passion pour ce projet a pris des envergures nationals.
La compagnie a maintenant plusieurs chapitres à travers les USA. Étant assez douée en dessin, je me suis dit: “Et pourquoi pas?” Donc, en ce jour national du bénévolat, je me suis dit que c’était le bon moment pour débuter mon implication!

On this Martin Luther King’s day and also on this National Volunteering Day, President Barack Obama is asking people to give up their holiday to give back to the community.
Even though I do volunteering work almost on a daily basis, an article in one of my favorite magazine caught my eyes the other day. Kaitlyn Chana, founder of Love Letter: Random Cards of Kindness (http://www.loveletterscares.com/) started in January 2005 her project to make cards for sick children. So, the project was just to be a homework assignment but she became passionate by what she was doing and ended up taking over the company and going national.
The company has now several chapters throughout USA. Being a quite good artist, I thought about it: “Why not!” So, on this National Day of Volunteering, I thought it would be the perfect timing to start my involvement with them!
