It is the big day today and after two years without taking vacation, nor see my parents, here I am flying off to Quebec this morning!
Finally, some vacations that I truly deserve!

Vivre en Californie et rencontrer des stars! / Live in California and meet Hollywood stars!

When I return to Quebec, it is really the million dollars question I get asked: “Have you ever met movie stars in person?” To live in the small town of Soquel, it is not necessarily like living next door to Universal Studios.
On this Academy Award day, I am talking today about what it is to live in California and what are your chances to have stars cross your path. To me, I am way more excited to be at the wheel of my car in Silicon Valley and see drive by a big corporation CEO such as Sun Microsystems’ or Cisco Systems’. To me, those people are the real stars. People who work hard, who change the future of high-tech on a daily basis and people with a superior IQ.
However, for people living outside California, they are only interested in knowing if I have ever met Tom Cruise (no, but I have been to the school he founded in Santa Cruz county), Linda Evans (I have seen her jogging in Santa Monica but didn’t have a camera on me) or if I have lay on the beach next to Pamela Anderson. Sorry! I have never seen her in person. I will let you know if it happens! However, during my last year at San Jose State University, in October 2007, we had the honor to receive the visit of Jeffrey Katzenberg.
Katzenberg, Dreamworks studio co-founder along with Steven Spielsberg and David Geffen, has spent the day with us. He is also known as David’s father, who happens to be Nicky Hilton’s boyfriend, the sweet sister of the extravagant Paris Hilton.
Yes, sometimes stars take the trouble to come visit you. Nice, eh?
