Pour ceux d’entre vous qui passeront par l’aéroport international de San Francisco d’ici novembre, ne manquez pas l’exposition de l’artiste sculpteur Ken “Rasp Master” Anger avec sa collection de canard.

Dans les années 30, Ken Anger a débuté sa carrière de sculpteur mais recevait peu d’attention du public. La demande pour ses oeuvres a débuté en 1941 après qu’il ait place une annonce dans le magazine “Rod and Gun”. Anger scuplte des canards avec d’impressionant corps, des ailes en relief and de minutieux détails sur leur surface. La majorité des canards d’Anger sont creux et construit à partir de deux épaisses planches de cèdre.

Les oeuvres de Ken Auger peuvent être vue jusqu’en novembre à l’aéroport international de San Francisco.

For those of you who will swing by the San Francisco International Airport before November, don’t miss the decoy exhibit by sculptor Ken “Rasp Master” Anger.

In the 1930's, Ken Anger started carving, but received little public attention. The demand for Anger's decoys erupted in 1941 after he placed an advertisement in the magazine, "Rod and Gun" (Fleming 142). Anger carved decoys with substantial bodies, relief-carved wings and tails and rasped surfaces. The majority of Anger's decoys are hollow, crafted of two thick laminated red cedar boards.
