Comme bien des projets ces années-ci, le rêve de transformer une maison victorienne de Pajaro Valley en Californie s’en va à va-l’eau. Manque d’argent et de ressources. Depuis la fameuse autoroute 1 en Californie, on pouvait voir cette maison avec une grosse enseigne qui demandait de l’argent pour aider au projet de restoration. On voulait transformer la maison en centre d’agriculture.
La fondation Redman-Hirahara s’est battu depuis les douze dernières années pour amasser assez d’argent. La maison, dont elle porte le nom du propriétaire (Redman-Hirahara), un cultivateur de betterave sucré, avait fait bâtir sa maison par l’architecte William Weeks en 1897. Les Hiraharas étaient internés durant la guerre mondiale II. La famille a vendue leur maison dans le milieu des années 80s.
Ce serait vraiment dommage que ce projet ne voit pas le jour éventuellement.

From the famous highway 1 in California, we can see this house with a big sign begging for money to help out with the renovation project. We wanted to transform this house in an agricultural center.
The Redman-Hirahara fought in the past 12 years to gather enough money. The house, that was named after its former owner (Redman-Hirahara), a sugar beet grower, had his home built and designed by architect William Weeks in 1897. The Hiraharas were interned during World War II. The family sold their house in the mid-80s.
It would be a shame that this project never come to term eventually.
