Shop Hop

Je me souhaite donc bonne chance! :-)

On this June 24th, it is the last day to do the Shop Hop, an annual event to hop from one quilt shop to another. In every store, you get a passport stamped.

Those past days, I did the complete tour (12 stores and one museum). I ended up with multiple gifts from every store I visited. See for yourself with the photos underneath. And it may not be the end! I can win in a drawing where they give gift certificates, gift baskets and the grand prize: a quilting retreat.

I am wishing myself good luck! :-)

Bloc du mois / Block of the Month

Like each month, I always register to the block of the month. This month, the contest gave me a white card to the contestants. So, I chose a star pattern. It is the first time that I took on a triangle pattern.

The experience has been interesting and let's hope the winner will like my block...

Bloc du mois / Block of the Month

Un autre mois, un autre "block of the month"!

---------------------------------------

Another month, another "Block of the Month"! This time, the colors are darker and once again, I can't win all the finished blocks because I have to take part of the contest during 6 times before I am eligible. But the most important is to have fun when you do the block... and I did!

Courte-pointe, 4ème partie / Quilting Part 4

Finally, it is finished! My quilt, that I started back in December, has been finished yesterday. With my broken foot, I was one month behind my schedule.

So, I am showing you my very first quilt. And you know what? I already started my second quilt already!

Courte-pointe (3ème partie) / Quilting (3rd part)

Yesterday, I attended my third quilting class. This time, I sewed together all the fabric squares. The work was quite easy, especially if one is well organized.

The next step is to do the contour and then the back. The teacher gave me the choice to have it done by a professional woman or to do it myself. Because I am interested to know how you completely do a quilt from A to Z, I will embark to do the back all by myself... just for the heck of it!

Courte-pointe (2ème partie) / Quilting (2nd part)

------------------------------

I will go to my quilting class today but I didn't loaf off since last Thursday. I did sewing both in class and at home. I started from the model on paper to a model in fabrics.

Today, we will do something else with those quilt squares. It is the total mystery and I am so curious to find out the next step...

Courte-pointe 101 / Quilting 101

Since a few days, I decided to realize a long-time dream: to learn how to do quilting. A month ago, I started taking sewing lessons. It was the basic courses in order to do quilting.

So, in collaboration with the store Judy’s Sewing Center, I am taking quilting classes every Thursday morning. Since the very first class, I absolutely love this new hobby.

In the upcoming weeks, I will show you the progress of my very first quilt. For the first step, we had to choose our fabrics and glue on a piece of paper the pattern for the quilt.
