On my usual Monday’s blog posts about successful businesswomen, I am getting a bit far from Silicon Valley today to talk to you about a fashionista: Debbie Lin. Owner of the DBYJ boutique (Defined By Your Journey), she is much more than being in the fashion industry. She is a multi-talented woman: musician, marketing professional and entrepreneure.
“Everyone always wants you in a box,” says Debbie. “You’re an artist, an athlete, a business person. It’s natural to assess things, but I believe we are more interesting and capable of being more when we see ourselves as the sum of our experiences, not just one thing.”
How did she start in the profession? She was suffering from terrible allergies and wanted to created clothes with natural fabrics. “I started out by wanting to make cool and unique accessories available and affordable, but it’s now about finding the perfect blend of classic comfort, timeless trends, and environmental products,” says Debbie.
Besides her boutique, she has numerous other projects such as a CD, a book, a fashion show as well as starting her own non-profit.
A young woman filled with projects who inspires more than one!
