Restaurant Bing Crosby / Bing Crosby’s Restaurant

Sophisticated atmosphere, friendly service and dishes that are as pleasing for the eyes than your stomach, I was sold by my meal. The restaurant was conceived by request of Crosby’s widow, Kathrin Cosby. Closed to the restaurant owner, she requested that the restaurant’s image and food quality reflect the souvenir of her late husband.

Feeling hungry? The Bing Crosby’s is located at 1342 Broadway Avenue in Walnut Creek. Reservation at 1-925-939-BING.

The Flambée Alaska cake! When I was a little girl, my mom had
a recipe book with a picture of the same cake. I was 7 when I asked her
to make me one, wish that was never granted (and I am now 42!).
At least, Bing Crosby was nice enough to realize my dream.
And it was a delicious wish! And, by the way, no bad feeling, mom!

Magasiner gratuitement! / Shop for free!

Give to receive free! It is the motto of the Saranap Communauty Association (SCA) (http://www.saranaponline.org/). With the bleak economic situation, who can afford to spend hundreds of dollars for newbord clothings or children’s toys?

Stephanie Monson, a Walnut Creek, California realtor thought of creating an exchange center for children clothing’s and toys in her community. Up to date, more than 40 SCA volunteers have organized two exchange events and plan to organize three more this year. The team promotes the event with word-to-mouth as well as massive flyer distribution. Volunteers also are responsible to clean every toy and wash and iron all the clothes given to the organization.

The exchange events are done on a 3-hour period and are held in a local school. Everything looks like a real store, not like a rummage sale. A nice example to follow for the other community!
