During my last vacations in Canada in December, I came home with several of my late grandmother's unfinished quilts. To motivate myself, I decided to finish the easiest quilt of the bunch.
Underneath are photos of the finished quilt that was completed a few days ago. The next one I will tackle is a longer one that will require hand quilting, all over!

Heartland Hospice

To remember a dear loved one is often a lonely gesture or something to do in family. We often feel isolated to cry the loss of a friend or a family member. It is worst when comes the anniversary of the death of a person we cared very much. We often have the impression that nobody understands us
Heartland Hospice initiated a ritual that will be annual from now on. Yesterday afternoon, through a small local newspaper announcement, they organized a ceremony where they invited the population to decorate a paper bag and to put them on a wall along the Pacific Ocean. Two musicians were playing “Somewhere over the Rainbow” while the small crowd prayed for the event.
I decorated a bag in memory of my maternal grandparents. A sober ceremony gathered about 50 people more or less and gave a spectacular view on a sunset on the Pacific Ocean.
Thank you to Heartland Hospice for this new annual event.
