Rester amies! / Remaining friends!

There are people that we meet at school and we keep in touch over the years, for a lifetime. This is the case with my friend Christine Rhee. I met her at the SJSU university in an art class and I stayed friends with her for the past years.

Yesterday, I paid her a visit. The last time we saw each other was at my graduation party in May 2008. Well yes! It was a long time ago! We were really due to see each other. Like me, she is an artist. She is a freelancer. I am inviting you to visit the portfolio of my talented friend: http://www.christinerhee.com/

15 minutes de gloire! / 15 minutes of fame!

It is Mark Twain who said that everybody deserves their 15 minutes of fame. Well, it is now the turn to my friend and former University classmate, Christine Rhee.

Like me, she studied Animation/Illustration at San Jose State University and graduated in May 2009, one year after me. During the last years at the university, she worked hard on Scott Sublett’s animation movie, “Bye bye Bin Laden.” It is a satirical movie about the Osama Bin Laden and Bush administration saga a few years ago. I remember seeing Christine so tired and discouraged by moment and wonder if something would come out of this project.

The movie is now available on video and we can rent it through Netflix or to purchase the movie or know more about this project, you can visit their website: http://www.bye-byebinladen.com/

Il y a un an... / A year ago...

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

There are moments in our life that we never forget, no matter what... Such as a birth, a marriage or the purchase of our first car or house. On my list, I would also add the day that I graduate with a Bachelor of Fine Art (B.F.A.) in Animation/Illustration from San Jose State University. Twelve years of higher education part-time while raising at the same time my two children so I can reach my goal.

And I remember that this special day was a year ago today. I will think about those who will graduate this morning. Among those people is my good friend, Christine Rhee, with whom I studied for many years. I wish to all these graduates a really nice day. Interesting fact is the temperature outside is the same as it was a year ago: grey and foggy.  It is as some things never changes in life.

J'étais tellement contente d'avoir enfin terminée! /
I was so glad to be finally done!
